Master of Laws Admissions​

To be eligible to apply, the applicant must present evidence of:

  • Graduation from a school of law approved by the American Bar Association; or
  • Admission to the Bar in a foreign jurisdiction, or of a state in the United States; or
  • Graduation from a faculty of law in a foreign country whose educational authority has authorized that faculty to issue degrees in law.

Priority Deadline

Having a complete application submitted on or before the priority deadline will guarantee you a decision within two weeks. After the priority deadline, decisions may take longer to process.

GradCAS Online Application System

Applicants apply by creating an account on the GradCAS online application system and uploading the required documents.

To create an online GradCAS account:

    • Navigate to GradCAS at https://gradcas.liaisoncas.org/apply/#/login.
    • Select a term.
    • Create an account.
    • On the Add Programs page, type University of the Pacific in the search box and then press Enter.
    • Click the + button for the online LLM program and start term that you want to apply to.
    • Click Continue.
    • On the Review Your Program Selections page, click Continue to My Application.
    • Click each section of the application (Personal Information, Academic History, Supporting Information, and Program Materials) and enter the requested information.
    • Click the Submit Application tab at the top of the page.
    • Click the Submit button to submit the application.

The application fee will be waived upon request for all LLM applicants. To receive a code for an application fee waiver, please contact graduatelaw@pacific.edu.

LLM Application Checklist

Applicants must upload the following documents to the GradCAS online application system.

Transcripts from all universities and colleges attended

  • Unofficial transcripts may be uploaded for admission review purposes.
  • Please note an official transcript is required to be submitted directly to Graduate and International Programs (see address below) before the first day of class.

Resume or curriculum vitae

Please submit a current resume or curriculum vitae.

Personal statement — Statements should address the following:

  • Relevant professional experience
  • Reason for application to the LLM program
  • Any additional significant information
  •  

Letters of recommendation

  • Please submit at least one original, signed letter of recommendation. Only one letter is required, but two are preferred.
  • Letters of recommendation should be from academic or professional sources.
  • Contact information for recommenders can be entered in the GradCAS system, or letters may be emailed directly to Graduate Law Admissions (see address below).

Note to all applicants: Working with an agent will not affect your chances of acceptance and scholarship. All applicants should disclose in their application materials if they are working with an agent. We encourage all applicants to communicate directly with us at graduatelaw@pacific.edu.
