Financing Your Degree

We’ll support you. Let’s find the best way to fund your McGeorge School of Law education together.

How it Works

At McGeorge, we calculate the costs of both the MSL and LLM programs with a per-unit rate. This means that you only pay for the particular units you are enrolled in each term. Help with moderate living expenses, with room for minor personal expenses, is available if necessary. If you are taking four or more units per term, you may also qualify for book expenses.

Online MSL Tuition & Costs — 2023-2024 Academic Year

Tuition is $1,500 per unit. A typical two-year program involves 6 units/semester and 2 units during the summer.

Financial Aid

The McGeorge School of Law, University of the Pacific Financial Aid Office is committed to providing all students, including MSL students, with financial aid resources to meet the educational costs of pursuing their legal future. Our goal is to ensure excellent customer service with accurate and timely delivery of financial aid funds. The financial aid process always begins with the recompletion of the FAFSA application. Your financial need is determined by an analysis of the information provided on your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

If you’re considering the MSL program, even if you have not yet been admitted, we recommend you go to www.studentaid.gov and complete the FAFSA form as soon as possible, which begins the financial aid process. For more information, visit McGeorge Financial Aid or contact our Financial Aid Office by calling (916) 739-7158.

Dean’s Scholarship

This scholarship ranges from $3,500 to $7,500 and is a one-time grant split between the first two semesters (summer sessions are not included). We typically look at the student’s GPA and resume. Scholarship recipients are determined during the admission review process based upon information in original application materials. No separate application is required.
