Tuition
At McGeorge, tuition for the MSL, LLM, MPA, and MPP programs is calculated on a per-unit basis, meaning students pay only for the units in which they are enrolled each term. Eligible students may receive financial aid to help cover moderate living expenses, with allowances for limited personal costs. Students enrolled in four or more units per term may also qualify for assistance with book expenses.

Prospective students applying to the MSL, MPA, MPP, or LLM program are encouraged to complete the FAFSA at www.studentaid.gov as early as possible, even prior to admission, to initiate the financial aid process. McGeorge School of Law offers scholarship opportunities to help make graduate education more accessible. Eligible students are considered for scholarships as part of the admission review process unless otherwise noted.
The Dean’s Merit Scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable award distributed across the recipient’s first two semesters; summer sessions are not included. Awards are based on a holistic review of the application, with particular consideration given to undergraduate academic performance and professional experience as reflected in the applicant’s resume.
Scholarship recipients are selected during the admission review process. No separate scholarship application is required.
The Graduate Student Scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable award distributed across the recipient’s first two semesters; summer sessions are not included. Recipients are selected during the admission review process based on their original application materials. No separate scholarship application is required.
The John Kirlin Scholarship is available to incoming Master of Public Administration (MPA) and Master of Public Policy (MPP) students who demonstrate a commitment to public service.

MPA & MPP Alumni Scholarship
The MPA & MPP Alumni Scholarship is funded through the generosity of McGeorge alumni who have contributed specifically to support students in the Public Administration (MPA) and Public Policy (MPP) programs.
This scholarship is a one-time, non-renewable award for incoming MPA and MPP students and is distributed across the recipient’s first two semesters; summer sessions are not included. Recipients are selected during the admission review process based on their application materials. No separate scholarship application is required.
Incoming MPA, MPP, and MSL students who are referred by an alumnus of the same McGeorge graduate program to which they are applying and they include your letter or recommendation with their application may be eligible for a 5% tuition discount toward their degree if admitted.
To qualify, applicants must include a letter of recommendation from an alumnus of the same program as part of their application materials. For example, an MPA applicant must be referred by an MPA alumnus, an MPP applicant by an MPP alumnus, and an MSL applicant by an MSL alumnus.
